Pediatric OT Services
Our Occupational Therapists can help with following areas when working with children:
Attention and concentration
Fine motor skills e.g. grasping, handwriting

Eating or drinking e.g. fussy eaters, limited food choices, fear of foods
Learning e.g. remembering things, planning, problem-solving, organisation

Sensory, behavioural, and emotional regulation e. g. helping to stay calm and alert to support other learning

Interventions to improve motor control including neurodevelopmental treatments and praxis treatment
Cogmed Working Memory Training – for improved working memory and attentions
Functional Skills training – self cares, toileting, handwriting
Functional Assessments
The purpose of an OT functional assessment is to ascertain the person’s present functioning in all facets of daily life, including identifying areas of strengths and weaknesses, and to provide suggestions to address identified challenges and promote the person’s maximum level of independence.
OT functional assessments involve evaluating the following basic skill areas (ADLs and IADLs)
– Mobility and transfers
– Showering
– Dressing, grooming and hygiene
– Toileting
– Feeding/eating
– Home maintenance (e.g. completion of household chores, gardening)
– Money management and budgeting
– Meal preparation and cooking
– Medication management
– Telephone use
– Travel and transport
– Shopping
– Laundry/washing
Home Assessments
Reviewing the physical space of the home and recommending solutions for improved functionality.
Elderly / Aged Care Assessment
Working with aged care facilities and elderly clients in their own homes to ensure optimal independent day-to-day living
Disability Home Modification
Recommending the best modifications, both major and minor, for independent, functional living.
